Tryout Overview
DCBA team tryouts are held for boys and girls in 3rd–11th grade for the 2026 Spring and Summer season, which runs from March through July.
Families who are unable to attend one of the listed tryout dates are still encouraged to register and plan to attend a Last Look Tryout, which provides an additional opportunity for evaluation and potential team placement.
Team invites are typically sent out within 2–4 days following tryouts, with rosters finalized approximately one week after the final tryout date.
Practices are expected to start mid to late March depending on grade level.

Team Structure & Scheduling
DCBA teams typically compete in 8–10 tournaments during the Spring and Summer season. Tournament weekends and schedules are finalized after rosters are formed to ensure teams are placed in environments that best support their level of development and competition needs.
Regional teams (Black) primarily compete locally and travel to events in areas such as Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Madison, and the Quad Cities.
National teams (Gold) compete in a more demanding schedule that may include additional regional or national travel.

Tuition for the Spring and Summer season (March–July) is as follows:
Tuition covers team participation for the full Spring and Summer season, including practices, coaching, and team organization. Individual player jerseys, travel, and lodging are not included unless otherwise noted.
Payment plans and alternative options may be available & more info will be available after tryouts. Families with questions regarding tuition or payment schedules are encouraged to contact DCBA directly.
